As you know, I always give you a "heads up" whenever
Jerry Lewis is mentioned in the
New York Times. Today is such a day. It's an op-ed piece with an aside about the
French: they "think Jerry Lewis is funny." I am not sure why this is a clever remark or why people make it
over and
over and
over again. It reminds me of that part in THE PRODUCERS when the guy says, "Pardon the pun," and
Gene Wilder says, "What pun?" and Zero Mostel says, "Shut up, he thinks he's witty."
