Among the first things that got me interested in stories and storytelling - in the fourth grade or so - were some paperback reprints of pulp novels about the Shadow. The pictures were great, too! So I would like to note the passing of Edd Cartier, who did the original illustrations for the pulp magazines of the 1930s.
