Welcome once again to Phil's Radio Korner, our recurring feature in which Phil introduces us to fine music - usually, but not exclusively, in the form of radio shows. Remember when Phil taught us how to listen to some African music on the "internet"? Now he does the same with the kirana gharana school of Hindustani classical singing. "We live in wondrous times," writes Phil, summing up his legacy. As you know, wondrous (along with progenitor and hypnotic) is one of the words banned from the "blog" [Pendarvis broke his own rule once - ed.] but in Phil's case, I am happy to make an exception.
